Extrajudicial Mediation

In the event of any disputes between lawyers and their clients there is the possibility of out-of-court dispute resolution at the regional bar association or at the arbitration board of the Federal Bar Association (pursuant to Section 73 (2) No. 3 in conjunction with Section 73 (5) BRAO) or at the arbitration board of the Federal Board Association (Section 191 f. BRAO), which can be accessed online via the Homepage of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers (www.brak.de or by e-mail: schlichtungsstelle[at]brak.de).

EU-Consumer Arbitration

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR). The platform can be accessed here: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. Consumers can use this platform to settle disputes relating to online purchases, provided the provider concerned participates in the dispute resolution procedure of the online dispute resolution centre.
