Successful Sale from Insolvency: Menold Bezler Finds Investor for MPK Kemmer

Dr. Sebastian Mielke of the law firm Menold Bezler, acting as insolvency administrator, has achieved a restructuring solution for MPK Kemmer GmbH PCB Tools, a manufacturer of ultra-fine drills and milling tools based in Schwäbisch Gmünd. Effective August 1, 2025, the company was transferred to DTech-Grinding-Machine GmbH, a subsidiary of the Chinese Guangdong Dtech Technology Co., Ltd.

MPK Kemmer produces precision tools such as drills and milling cutters for the printed circuit board industry. The company faced a crisis due to the challenging situation in the automotive sector, postponed orders, and investments in future technologies that did not pay off as planned. On November 20, 2024, the company filed for insolvency with the competent local court in Aalen. The court appointed Dr. Sebastian Mielke as preliminary insolvency administrator. Regular insolvency proceedings were opened on February 1, 2025.

Together with the company’s management, Dr. Mielke and his team stabilized operations and initiated an investor search process to secure the company’s long-term future. As part of the sale to DTech-Grinding-Machine, all 42 employees will be retained. The Schwäbisch Gmünd site will also be preserved. The creditors' assembly approved the sale unanimously. In addition, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, which had to be involved due to the future Chinese ownership, issued a certificate of non-objection.
